Travel & Tourism Level 2

Fasten your seatbelts and get ready to take off! The Level 2 Travel & Tourism programme requires an interest in the UK, and global Travel & Tourism industry. This demanding sector is one of the World’s largest industries and this course is designed to provide you with a solid knowledge of Travel & Tourism. You will gain the skills needed to progress to the next level in Hospitality, Travel & Tourism or to secure employment within the sector.

During the course, you will study The UK Travel & Tourism Industry and look at the Customer Service Experience. Travel & Tourism Destinations are researched, alongside Travel Agency Operations, Promotional activities in Travel & Tourism, and career planning within the industry.

You will also have the opportunity to learn about airports and airlines and organise a Travel & Tourism event.

You will be expected to undertake a 1 week work experience placement.

How will I be assessed?

The course is assessed through a combination of coursework, class assessments and presentations/role play.

What do I need?

You will need to have achieved at least 4 GCSEs at Grade 3 and above, including English Language, and Maths. It is a requirement, however, that you retake GCSE English Language and Maths as part of your programme, if you do not have Grade 4. This will ensure you can progress to a Level 3 course or apprenticeship, and will improve your future employment prospects.

Where can it take me?

You can progress to a Level 3 vocational course, including in Travel, Aviation and Hospitality.

You could consider a junior position as a Travel Agent, Resort Representative, Hotel Receptionist, Event Planner or working in the Cruising industry.
