Travel & Tourism Level 1

Travel and Tourism is one of the world’s largest and fastest-growing industries, offering exciting career opportunities both locally and internationally. This Level 1 course is designed as an ideal introduction to the dynamic world of travel and tourism. It will equip you with the foundational skills and knowledge needed to pursue further studies or to enter the industry.

Throughout this course, you will gain a solid understanding of key aspects of the industry, preparing you for progression to Level 2 and beyond. You will learn about customer service, how to promote destinations and travel experiences, and develop an understanding of the aviation industry. We will also guide you through the basics of employment opportunities in this ever-expanding sector.

Upon successful completion of this Level 1 course, you will have the opportunity to advance to Level 2 Travel and Tourism, where you will continue to develop specialised skills and knowledge or apply for an entry-level position in the travel and tourism industry.

How will I be assessed?

The course is assessed through a combination of coursework, class assessments and presentations/role play.

What do I need?

You will need to have achieved at least 2 GCSEs at Grade 2 and above, including English Language, and Maths. It is a requirement, however, that you retake GCSE English Language and Maths as part of your program, if you do not have Grade 4. This will ensure you can progress to a Level 2 course or apprenticeship and will improve your future employment prospects.

Where can it take me?

You can progress to a Level 2 vocational course, including in Travel and Aviation.

You could consider seeking employment as junior position as a Trainee Travel Agent or working in a customer service facing role in hospitality.
