Legal Services T Level

Launch your legal career with a Legal Services T Level. This is a 2-year full time qualification designed to give you the industry knowledge and skills required for the legal services sector. It will provide you with an up-to-date qualification within an ever-changing industry and enhance your employability within a dynamic market.

T Levels follows on from GCSEs and prepares learners for work, further training or study. T Levels are one of the main choices for learners after GCSEs alongside A-Levels and Apprenticeships.

The qualification is intended to be as practical as possible and are based 80% within the classroom and 20% within an industrial placement. You will not only learn skills in preparation for your career, but you’ll also be undertaking lots of practical hands-on activities, projects and tasks to give you the experience employers are looking for.

You will review case law and be asked to make judgements and recommendations based on the legal research you carry out. 

You will undertake an industry placement for 315 hours (45 days) with an employer to make sure you have authentic experience of the workplace. You’ll practice your skills within the workplace and learn from the professionals.

How will I be assessed?

Two externally set exams and an employer set project in your first year and a skill based project based on an occupational specialism in your second year.

What do I need?

You will need to have achieved at least 5 GCSEs at Grade 5 or above, including English and Maths.

Where can it take me?

Achieving this Qualification will provide several progression options. T-Level Legal Services is eligible for UCAS points allowing you to continue your studies on to a degree programme or you could progress onto an apprenticeship. There are also job roles that may be open to you such as a Paralegal, Legal Secretary or Court Usher.
