As part of the course you will undertake units related to the field of Health & Social Care, allowing you to progress into a variety of careers or higher education.
Health & Social Care is a very dynamic subject and you will explore a variety of areas and current topics of interest, from human growth and development, learning about human behaviour, communication, health promotion, to child protection and safeguarding.
A clear Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required and you will undertake a placement one day a week to gain valuable hands-on experience of careers within the sector.
The course is assessed through a combination of coursework and examinations.
Work placement will also be graded based on attendance and commitment over 2 years of study, and will be graded A* - D.
You will need to have achieved at least 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 and above, including English and Maths. A Grade 4 GCSE in Science would be advantageous due to an Anatomy exam within the programme of study. Level 3 vocational Science qualifications at Distinction or Merit Level may also be considered.
You could progress to an exciting range of higher level courses, including Health & Social Care Foundation Degree.
