ESOL Skills for Life Entry 2

The aim of the Skills for Life is to equip learners with the skills needed to function independently in UK society. We focus on developing skills in speaking and listening, reading and writing across 5 main areas - Travel, Retail, Education, Healthcare and Digital, allowing learners to develop their English language skills in order to advocate for themselves and their families in day to day life.

Alongside English you will also study maths, which is assessed separately and offered from Entry level 1 to GCSE Higher Tier.

You will leave the course with a personal statement and CV to help you seek employment that matches your skills.

How will I be assessed?

The course will be assessed via ongoing teacher observation to ensure that you successfully meet the criteria in each of the 5 areas above.

If you demonstrate sufficient skill and commitment to study you will be entered for exams, which take place three times a year - December, March and July.

What do I need?

There are no entry requirements for this course, your suitability will be examined through a short initial assessment with teaching staff prior to the start of the course.

Where can it take me?

This course will equip you with the language skills to seek employment and contribute actively to your community.

Successful completion of the course will allow you to progress onto Entry 3.
