Alongside English you will also study maths, which is assessed separately and offered at Entry level 1 through to GCSE Higher Tier. You will also study Essential Digital skills at Entry 3 and a compulsory work-related subject chosen from the following options:
You will leave the course with a personal statement and CV to help you seek employment that matches your skills.
The course will be assessed via ongoing teacher observation to ensure that you successfully meet the criteria in each of the 5 areas above.
If you demonstrate sufficient skill and commitment to study you will be entered for exams, which take place three times a year - December, March and July.
You must have successfully completed an ESOL course at Entry level 2, or be able to demonstrate language skills at this level in Speaking and Listening, Reading and Writing if no prior qualifications are evident.
This course will equip you with the language skills to seek employment and contribute actively to your community.
Successful completion of the course will allow you to progress onto our Level 1 vocational course.
