Why study this course?
The AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting is the introductory level of the AAT Accounting Qualification. It is an ideal starting point for anyone wishing to pursue a career in accountancy or finance. It delivers a solid foundation which provides you with the basic knowledge of accounting, covering subjects such as: double-entry bookkeeping, basic costing principles, purchase, sales and general ledgers, computerised accounts and how to work effectively in finance.
Once you have completed this level successfully, you will be awarded the AAT Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Accounting.

The accountancy skills developed by studying this qualification can lead to employment such as: Accounts Administrator, Accounts Assistant, Accounts Payable Clerk, Purchases/Sales Ledger Clerk, Training Accounting Technician and Trainee Finance Assistant.
Entry requirements
We expect the prospective students to have 5 GCSEs at grade C or above and these must include English Language and Maths. If necessary, you may be asked to do diagnostic assessment so that appropriate additional support may be arrange for you.
There is a substantial amount of written work to do in addition to the number work.
