Students at Halesowen College have been treated to a special workshop with professional musical theatre performer Jessica Daugirda.

Jessica is currently appearing as Bex in the UK tour of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie. Bex is one of Jamie’s close friends in the show.

This new musical is a coming-of-age story and tells the real life story of a 16-year-old boy with a secret he reveals at the school prom.

The students did a jazz technique workshop followed by an audition in groups with feedback provided from Jess.

Students asked questions on vocational training, casting, professional auditions, agents, showreels and about her personal experiences in the industry.

Amber Lloyd, musical theatre course leader at Halesowen College, said: “Thank you to Jessica to taking the time to come into College and share her experiences and techniques with our students.

“We all had a great time and learnt a lot.”
