This might seem like a silly question but some students really do ask. If you have not completed your qualification, in full and by the date of graduation, then you are not permitted to graduate. If you do complete later in the year then you can talk to your tutor about the possibility of graduating the following year.
All students are required to be gowned in order to graduate. This is part of the graduation ceremony and it is a really special experience for everyone to be involved in.

Yes, we are happy for children to attend the ceremony if accompanied by an adult. If the child needs a space to sit, then they will count as one of your two guests. If your guests are bringing a pushchair then you can let us know when you book their e-tickets and we will do our best to seat them near an aisle.
Get in touch with us as soon as possible. You can contact us by email graduation@halesowen.ac.uk
There will be light canapes and drinks after the ceremony for graduands, staff and members of the academic party. As it is a long day then we would suggest you have a good breakfast beforehand and bring a small bottle of water to keep you hydrated during the afternoon. There are also food outlets at college.
