Since establishment in 1982 Halesowen College has built a reputation for providing an exceptional range of learning opportunities for students. As a tertiary organisation, the College has a distinctive character with the purpose being ‘to enable students, staff, the economy and the community to Learn, Succeed and Flourish’.
The Corporation comprises members from diverse backgrounds who have the skills and experience necessary to be effective critical friends to the College, which includes oversight, challenge and support.
The Corporation has a clear strategic direction for the College. Responsibilities are carried out over an annual cycle of business, which is spread across committees feeding into a Main Board. Governance is conducted in a constructive atmosphere in which members debate issues to reach collective decisions.
Being a governor is a voluntary yet rewarding role. We are always looking for individuals who are passionate about education and training, who can contribute to the work of the board. All governors receive induction, training and support for this role, which is tailored to meet individual need.
Halesowen College is an accredited Leader in Diversity. As an equal-opportunities employer we welcome applications from all groups of society including those who are underrepresented.
The College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
