Why study this course?

The Level 4 Diploma in Professional Accounting covers high-level accounting and finance topics. The course covers a wide range of financial management skills and applications, including drafting financial statements for limited companies, recommending accounting systems strategies and constructing and presenting complex management accounting reports.

Course content

AAT level 4 is made up of 6 units, 4 of which are mandatory units and 2 are optional units.

 The mandatory units:

  • Management account budgeting
  • Management account decision and control
  • Financial statements
  • Professional level synoptic

Possible optional units:

  • Personal tax
  • Business tax
  • Credit management
  • Cash and treasury management
  • External auditing

You will be assessed via an online examination.

The assessments include written elements, meaning you will need a good level of understanding about the different topics covered, so you are able to confidently explain certain concepts of the syllabus in your assessments.

Entry requirements

AAT level 3  or experience within an accounting role and prior knowledge (interview assessed)

A calculator, a pen and a notepad.
