This course will develop learners’ skills, knowledge, and behaviours of the healthcare industry, preparing learners for the future workplace to work alongside a variety of different healthcare professionals and service users. The program offers a well-rounded education that combines industrial placement and theoretical knowledge that prepares learners for the workplace, offering an extensive list of opportunities that supports professional and personal development.

Compulsory Modules
Unit 1 Law, Policy and Ethical Practice in Health and Social Care (15 credits)
Unit 2 Demonstrating Professional Principles and Values in Health and Social Care (30 credits)
Unit 3 Supporting the Individual Journey through Integrated Health and Social Care (15 credits)
Unit 4 Fundamentals of Evidence-based Practice (Pearson-set Project) (15 credits)
Unit 17 Effective Reporting and Record-keeping in Health and Social Care Services (15 credits)
Optional units are subject to change:
Unit 8 Addressing Health Inequalities (15 credits)
Unit 14 Sociological and Psychological Perspectives on Health (15 credits)
A total of 120 credits must be achieved.
Delivery
The course will be delivered full-time to learners. This will be over two days a week and two days placement a week, learners are expected to complete independent study alongside guided learning hours. Learners will have 1 hour a week of tutorial with the Personal Coach. Modes of learning may include face-to-face and virtual learning, access to virtual learning environments include Moodle and Microsoft Teams whereby learning resources will be accessible to learners.
Assessment
There will be a variety of different assessment methods that will be used throughout the HNC. These include, and are not exhaustive of: portfolios, presentations, professional discussions, observations, essays and reports.
Learners will receive results as Pass, Merit or Distinction 15 working days after submitting.
You will be required to complete 225 hours of placement.
