Full Time: two days per week

  • In class delivery involving lectures, practicals, seminars, group discussion and independent research

Assessment

Assignment work throughout the programme which may be assessed through practical assessments, seminars, presentations, dissertation and written assignments, graded a pass, merit or distinction.

Entry requirements

Students must have successfully completed the Level 4 Higher National Certificate in Animal Management.

  • 48 UCAS points
  • GCSE grades A* to C (9 – 4) in Maths and English Language
    and either:
  • A BTEC Level 3 qualification in Animal Management or a similar discipline
    or
  • an A Level profile preferably with a science focus
    or
  • an Access to Higher Education Certificate (preferably science-based)

Mature students may present a more varied profile of achievement that is likely to include extensive work experience and/or achievement of a range of professional qualifications within the animal industry.

Any other information an applicant would need to know at this initial stage?

It is recommended that students supplement their course with voluntary work experience to develop their own skills and experience to enhance employment opportunities.  Other costs involved will be overalls/lab coat and wellington boots for practical activities and potential costs for trips.
